Early Season The season started off strong. I was coming off 18 months post-hip surgery, finally feeling like myself again—running, jumping, biking, stretching, all the things that make me feel alive. After living with a torn labrum for over a decade, it felt like I had finally put that chapter behind me. The snow was late, but winter was settling in. The nights stretched longer, the air sharpened, and the holidays wrapped around us like a familiar old blanket. It felt like it was going to be a great season.
